50 new houses were built for flood victims (avg. 7 people per household) in Punjab, Pakistan
50 families were selected based upon the harshness of their circumstances following the bitter Pakistan floods in 2010 that claimed over 1700 lives, cost over $43 billion worth in damages and affected over 23 million people.
The selection criteria for receiving the permanent housing were the following:
1. Flood affected families whose houses were completely destroyed.
2. Flood affected Widows and Orphans households.
3. Young-male headed households (no male head of household to work).
4. Disabled individuals or those in danger due to exposure to extreme weather conditions in their area.
