Muslim Aid was established in 1989 and incorporate in September 1991 by concerned humanitarians that saw a need for professional Muslim relief organisation which was non existent at the time.

Eighty percent (80%) of the worlds' refugees, facing ongoing crises and disaster, are of Muslim backgrounds (source: Austcare). This fact alone alerted the need for Muslim Australians to be actively involved, in the effort to assist the worlds' less fortunate people.

Muslim Aid Australia aims to provide emergency, long-term assistance and other charitable work to alleviate the pain of those suffering and in need of relief, in the accordance to the obligations imposed by the Qur'an (holy book of Muslims) and Sunnah (as exemplified by the life style of the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him))
