Duas for the Last 10 Days of Ramadan: Maximise Your Worship and Embrace Allah’s (SWT) Blessings

As the crescent moon wanes, signifying the nearing end of the holy month of Ramadan, our spirits should not dwindle but soar, especially during the last 10 nights. It was in these sacred nights that the Qur’an descended upon the Prophet (ﷺ), on Laylatul Qadr, the night better than one thousands months, making this period exceptionally special.

The Prophet (ﷺ) showed unparalleled devotion during these days, more so than any other time, as narrated by his most cherished wife, Aisha (ra). “Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to exert himself in devotion during the last ten nights to a greater extent than at any other time." [Muslim]. His life, a beacon for us, illuminates the path of increased commitment and fervour during these nights.

Let’s follow the Prophet’s (ﷺ) example by immersing ourselves in abundant good deeds; reciting the Qur’an, engaging in night prayers, giving generously, and fervently making dua. The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us, “Dua is the essence of worship.” [Tirmidhi]. In these final nights, when our supplications become a conduit for special blessings, let's ensure our hearts and tongues are in constant remembrance of Allah (SWT).

To aid in your spiritual journey during these blessed nights, here are profound duas, a means to draw nearer to Allah (SWT), and to end Ramadan on a high note of devotion and gratitude.

Dua for the Night of Power

During the sacred last ten nights of Ramadan, one particular dua holds profound beauty and significance, ideally recited on Laylatul Qadr. Given the mystery surrounding the exact night of Laylatul Qadr, it's wise to engage in reciting this dua throughout ALL of these final nights. Allah (SWT) cherishes our dedication to remembering Him, especially in these moments when the rewards for our deeds are magnified.

“O Allah, You are the Most forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

Dua for Protection

In seeking Allah’s protection, we aim to be sheltered from all that distances us from His mercy.

“O Allah, I ask of Your pleasure and for Paradise, and I seek refuge from Your displeasure and from the Hellfire.”

Dua for Guidance (and more!)

Seeking Allah’s guidance ensures we remain steadfast on the path that leads to His pleasure and Jannah.

“O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, abstinence (from the unlawful), modesty, contentment, and sufficiency.”

Dua for Direction

In uncertain moments, asking for Allah’s direction ensures we align our choices with His divine wisdom.

“O Allah! Direct me to the Right Path and make me adhere to the Straight Path.”

Dua for Wisdom

With wisdom, we navigate life’s trials with grace and understanding, always in pursuit of what pleases Allah (SWT).

“O Allah, benefit me with what You have taught me, and teach me that which will benefit me, and increase me in knowledge.”

Dua for Your Parents

Honouring our parents through dua is a beautiful way to repay them for their sacrifices and to ask for Allah’s mercy upon them.

“My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small.”

As the last ten nights unfold, let our hearts and souls be engaged in seeking Allah’s pleasure through these profound duas. May our worship be accepted, our sins forgiven, and our hearts filled with peace and contentment. Ameen.
