IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 1 IN 6 PEOPLE LIVING TODAY DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATE ACCESS TO WATER, AND OVER 1 IN 3 LACK BASIC SANITATION.
Serious health issues harm millions as a result of insufficient water availability, with nearly 80% of illnesses in developing countries linked to poor water and sanitation.

Sustainable access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation is both a human right and central component of the Millennium Development Goals. Currently, this right is being denied to many of the world’s poorest people.

HELP PEOPLE ACHIEVE THIS RIGHT BY BUILDING CAPACITY AT THE LOCAL LEVEL. THIS ENTAILS: PROVIDING INFRASTRUCTURE LIKE WATER WELLS, DEVELOPING LOCAL KNOWLEDGE ON HYGIENE AND WATER SECURITY, PROVIDING FINANCE, AND MONITORING WATER QUALITY.
